Re-Defining Shame

The world does not makes sense! It doesn't matter what you say, only what your spokesperson said you said. We are not supposed to be ashamed of anything we do, but the enemies of all things decent seek at every opportunity to shame those of us who stand for traditional values [read Decency].

The current battle in the U.S. Supreme Court is a case in point: The Federal Government [read: Obama and his cronies] wants to strip States of the power to protect both themselves and the Nation from criminals who may vote for them. Arizona law does not abrogate "probable cause" in permitting police officers from inquiring as to someone's citizenship.

However, this is exactly what the Government lawyers are arguing. North Carolina's 'Defense of Marriage Act' [currently on the Primary Ballot] does not strip people of their Rights, unless fornication and sodomy are now rights. Of course, they are, under the New Moral Code! Most folks consider it a shame to speak of the things these people do but we're finding that it is more of a shame to suggest they are not contributing to the strength of The Family and of our Society. Of course, according to any objective evaluation, they are Not!

One 'Church' website boasts a Flyer to help folks sort out the issues regarding this Amendment. It says 'voting against this amendment is NOT a vote to legalize same-gender marriage,' but rather to 'limit business and tourism in this State,' and to 'strip public entities of their authority to provide benefits to same-sex AND opposite-sex domestic partners.' Well, there you have it! When a segment of society wants to wallow in degradation, create social instability and deliberately degrade their health, the rest of us must be willing to pay for it or be what? Bigots? Homophobes? Religious Fanatics? Fear-mongers?

This reasoning is based on the idea that men and women living together, without satisfying the reasonable requirements of law and public decency, are entitled to all the same benefits as the those who do. All we're doing is adding same-sex unions.

No one, outside the cultural context of the last 50 years would accept this premise. In fact, they would be laughing at it if it were not so foolish and destructive! "Marriage" is about two-becoming-one. This oneness is physical, emotional and spiritual. That mankind would seek marriage outside these parameters is a testimony to his depravity.

The conversation has forever changed! No longer do we speak of what is inherently right or good. Now it's all about what makes us happy or feeds our desires. We believe we can live anyway we choose and the results will be the same. This is how God characterized such an attitude: When they knew God [absolute right], they glorified Him not as God [objective arbiter of right], neither were they thankful [to Him, for their life], but became vain [empty] in their imaginations [free thinking], and their foolish [lacking in understanding] heart was darkened [further], professing to be wise they became fools [simpletons]. [Romans 1:21,22] What they did [do] is take what they know about right / wrong and then live as though it doesn't matter. [Rom. 1:18].

The Bible says this is what brings God's wrath! Not just on those who do such things but on those who support this kind of thinking.

The Battle Lines Are Drawn. They came after the men: debasing them with Free Sex. Then they came after the women: making them willing pawns in mens' sexual fantasies. Then they came after the children: killing them in the womb. Now they're coming after The Family: The Basic Building Block of Society.

The Motto of the State of North Carolina is: To Be, Rather Than To Seem. Look for the day when we are forced to change that to read: To Seem, Rather Than To Be.
